¡wénrán zhào! is an artist working with code, textiles, and language. She looks at the ever-evolving technologies: the web, touch screens, XR, Artificial Intelligence, and many more-in an anachronistic way. Her work augments objects or artifacts with custom software, exploring the textures of technology and revealing its political and cultural relevance to contemporary societies.

She holds a Bachelor of Art and Science from School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, and an MFA in Digital + Media from Rhode Island School of Design.

Her artworks have been exhibited at various venues in Hong Kong, London, New York, and Providence. Her digital writing works have been published in Electronic Literature Organization (ELO) Conference, Taper, The New River Journal and the RISD museum's publication. She is a year 12 member at New Inc, and received the NMC Judson-Morrissey Excellence in New Media Award in 2023.
